Terry Venables was one of the best managers England has ever produced. However, through his column in The Sun newspaper, he doesn’t half talk some bollocks. Before the world cup, he was heaping praise on Wayne Rooney claiming he was the best striker in the world. You would have thought he would realise his mistake after Rooney’s inept displays but apparently not.
With the world cup debacle swept under the carpet, he then went on to criticize Manchester United for not giving Rooney a new contract. He suggested this could be the reason for his sub-standard performances for club and country. Many people would disagree with that theory. On the recent form, he is more interested in smoking Marlboro and indulging in clandestine erotic activities than scoring goals.
He has publicly held his club to ransom and got his bumper new contract. This was downright shameful behaviour that angered even the most loyal Man Utd fans. Instead of highlighting this, Terry Venables tried to paint it as some sort of victory for Sir Alex Ferguson. The only good thing to come out of this episode is the club has longer to find a suitable buyer and ship him out.

in his job working for the sun means he has to talk bollocks, i'm sure he doesnt believe what he writes but he has to tow the party line at the sun.

If those articles on Wayne Rooney were not his words i don't think he would put his name to the column.
Don't get me wrong, he was a great football manager in his day. However, some of his views appear out of touch.

Many ex pros say things we are shocked by, it's sometimes to be controversial, though more often they actually believe what they say.
